DT arm wins German DVB-H frequencies

Germany's telecommunications regulator has awarded DVB-H mobile broadcast frequencies to Deutsche Telekom's T-Systems.
"The awarding of the DVB-H frequencies is a further decisive step for mobile television in Germany," said regulator Matthias Kurth.
The DVB-H network will be built next year and state capitals will be connected to it by the end of 2008. By 2015 some 90% of German households will be able to use DVB-H services.
Last month, Germany's cartel office agreed that mobile phone operators T-Mobile, Vodafone and O2 could create a jointly owned and managed platform for broadcast mobile television.
The platform will deploy the DVB-H standard, which Brussels supports as the pan-European solution for mobile TV.
