NDS demonstrates secure WiMax mobile TV

Pay-TV technology provider NDS is partnering with MobiTV, the US-headquartered mobile TV aggregator and service provider, to demonstrate the first secure delivery of mobile TV to PCs using WiMax wireless distribution.
NDS said its VideoGuard system would protect pay-TV content rights and revenues for mobile TV service providers using WiMAX in future. The demonstration is taking place at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
"MobiTV offers the leading platform for delivery of TV to mobile devices and PCs. Our demonstration at CES shows how Mobile WiMAX operators can generate revenues from mobile video by supporting multiple business models and protecting their content at the same time," said Joseph Deutsch, Vice President of Product Marketing for NDS.
