Digital technology provider OpenTV is behind CNN's new interactive television service in the US. The service, CNN Enhanced TV, has been developed by OpenTV working with Turner Broadcasting System, and launched this month on EchoStar's digital satellite DISH Network.
The service provides latest headlines and images from CNN.com combined with CNN programming. DISH Network subscribers can vote in polls, and review on-air schedules.
"CNN's commitment of delivering greater access to their extensive news coverage is taken to the next level with this offering," said OpenTV's Tom Hagopian.
"DISH Network subscribers will quickly realise the breadth and depth of CNN news they can access simply on demand. We are pleased to be partnering with Turner in providing our proven technology platform to enable CNN to deliver the most advanced news services."
