The BBC has reportedly decided not to sell its studio facilities and post-production arm, BBC Resources, before June 2007.
The announcement was said to have been part of a proposed deal to resolve a dispute with broadcast unions over the BBC's plans to overhaul its finances ahead of the renewal of its Royal Charter.
Unions called off a strike planned this week after the corporation agreed there would be no compulsory redundancies over the next year.
Last week the BBC confirmed that four organisations had made it to the shortlist for the sale of BBC Broadcast, the privatised digital play-out centre.
