Sky Sports has signed a deal with Hutchison Whampoa's '3' network in the UK, enabling users to watch sports video news and action over their third-generation (3G) handsets. The deal follows 3's agreement with the Barclaycard FA Premier League to stream highlights from its games.

Sky Sports material available to 3 customers, available as part of the news and entertainment channel 'Today on 3', will include the latest sports bulletins and stories, European golf and Sky's weekly Soccer AM show.

Stephen Nuttall of Sky Sports said: "This deal further underlines Sky's proposition of delivering sports content via a cross media experience: television, online and video mobile."

TV Today Group - owner of Indian news channel Aaj Tak - is preparing to launch the station as a subscription service on Sky Digital in the UK. On air for three years in Asia, the news channel recently launched in the US. No date has been set for the UK launch.
