Sky has acquired over-the top (OTT) internet TV provider, Acetrax.
The satellite broadcaster announced the acquistion, which took place on 25 April, in their latest financial results statement.
Acetrax currently provide a transactional video on demand service to arange of internet-connected devices. According to Sky, the acquisition will support the continued development of their OTT activities and further strengthen relationships with connected device manufacturers and content providers.
Acetrax is currently embedded in Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Toshiba, Grundig, Asus, Acer, Lenovo, Netgear and D-Link devices and is available in seven European countries (UK, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France and Austria).
