Virgin Media has launched a range of broadband and mobile bundles which include the digital music service Spotify.
Following the announcement of a partnership deal earlier this year, Virgin Media customers will be able to access Spotify online through home computers, on mobile devices or through the Spotify app on Virgin Media's TiVo powered digital TV service.
New or recontracting customers taking Virgin Media's fibre optic broadband service will be able to receive Spotify Premium free for six months while Virgin Media broadband customers taking a new pay monthly Virgin Mobile contract will receive a three month Spotify Premium subscription as part of their service. Following the expiry of the free offer period, Virgin customers will be able to subscribe to Spotify Premium through Virgin Media, or switch to Spotify's ad-supported Free6 service.
Cindy Rose, Executive Director of Digital Entertainment at Virgin Media, said: "The launch of Spotify on Virgin Media marks a significant milestone for digital entertainment and the way it is enjoyed by consumers.
"Bringing together Virgin Media services with brilliant entertainment such as Spotify is a core part of our ongoing strategy and we're excited to be able to lead the way with such a great partnership."
Andreas Liffgarden, Global Head of Telecom Business Development for Spotify, added: "We are thrilled to be partnering with Virgin Media to offer music fans access to one of the biggest music libraries in the world at their fingertips, through broadband, mobile and—for the first time—TiVo. Telcoms companies moving into the music space increases revenue streams to the music industry and provides benefits for fans and artists alike."
The new bundles are the first of a forthcoming range of offers from Virgin Media to include Spotify as an integrated part of its services.
