O2 launches mobile TV service in Ireland
O2 has launched a new mobile TV service in Ireland.
The "O2 TV" service offers customers the choice of two mobile TV packages. The "O2 Lifestyle Pack" offers entertainment, music, and news with channels including RTE News Now, CNN and the Travel Channel, while the "Sky Sports & News Pack" offers live sports and news content on channels including Sky Sports 1, 2 & 3 and Sky News.
O2 TV uses streaming technology and is available on 3G/HSDPA capable handsets.
Commenting on the launch, Karl Aherne, Category Manager, Digital & Entertainment—Telefónica O2 Ireland, said, "We are delighted to be introducing a new mobile TV service for our customers. The two packages we have put together will give customers the widest choice of channels across news, sports and entertainment at extremely competitive rates."
