Strategy & Technology (S&T) will launch its new MHEG-5 receiver engine RedKey 2 to the European market on their stand number 1.B11 at IBC 2008.
RedKey 2 is a software receiver engine that adds the MHEG-5 interactive TV middleware to set-top boxes and integrated digital television sets (iDTV).
The receiver comes complete with full HD graphical capabilities.
"HD is now clearly a broadcasting reality and once again the expansion of MHEG-5 continues to reflect the latest global broadcast developments. RedKey 2 leads the field with its capabilities and our MHEG middleware business continues to go from strength-to strength," said David Cutts, MD, S&T.
HD graphics support features on the device include enhanced colour rendering, anti-aliased fonts and the accurate reproduction of HD graphics assets.
"With RedKey? 2 we have significantly enhanced the scope of the technology without compromising two of core assets: it is highly cost-effective and requires a very small memory footprint to operate. RedKey? 2 is a great achievement and real advance and provides broadcasters with additional routes to success," says Paul Daly, General Manager, S&T Client Systems.
