SeaChange's On Demand Group (ODG) has won a contract to provide Channel 4 with content management and reporting services for its video-on-demand service 4oD, available to Virgin Media's cable subscribers since October.
ODG said its services would allow Channel 4 to gain "valuable insight" into the viewing behaviour of its video-on-demand customers, and "ensure the smooth delivery of video content as part of a seamless customer experience".
Sarah Rose, head of video-on-demand and channel development at Channel 4, said: "We designed 4oD with the customer experience firmly in mind, which meant our choice of partner for content management and video delivery needed to be a best-fit solution.
"ODG's expertise in managing complex content and data issues and efficiently delivering on-demand video helps us to set the standard for video-on-demand."
ODG launched the Front Row pay-per-vew movie service on UK cable platforms in 1998. In 2004 ODG formed FilmFlex, a video-on-demand movie service with Sony Pictures and The Walt Disney Company as joint venture partners, which was launched over UK cable networks in 2005.
