Digital TV smart card maker NDS said its full-year earnings doubled year-on-year to $74m after revenues rose 56% to $556m.
The News Corporation-controlled firm said the figures had been lifted by contracts with DirecTV and Sky Italia.
At the end of June there were 56.7m NDS smart cards in operation around the world, up from 44m at the end of June 2004.
Dr Abe Peled, president and CEO, said: "This has been a very challenging year for NDS, one in which we had to rapidly expand our resources to meet the expansion of new customer projects, as well as make progress on the integration of our MediaHighway acquisition.
"I am pleased to report that we are being successful in meeting these challenges, and were able to achieve excellent financial results."
Among other ecent contract wins were deals to provide its Synamedia content protection system to Softbank's internet protocol television (IPTV) service in Japan, and Galaxy Satellite Broadcasting's broadband video-on-demand service in Hong Kong.
